The Yamaha shock is good but has some
drawbacks in stock form. The stock ramp style spring
preload adjuster provides a very limited range of
adjustment. In fact, the R1 and R6 minimum adjustment
still has to much preload. Race Tech's new Spring
Kit replaces the stock adjuster with a threaded collar
type design that allows for very precise spring preload
adjustment. The kit comes with a Race Tech High Performance
Shock Spring available in five different rates (8.0,
8.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10.0 kg/mm), and the specifically designed
collar.
